There is lots of time in the saddle with riding lessons and picnic trail rides and a horse show at the end of camp. Trail rides: We specialize in gentle horses and friendly exceptional staff in a spectacular mountain setting. We offer picnic rides, group and private trail rides, riding lessons, camps, pony rides and a cowboy up ride - where you learn to be a cowboy in half a day! Cowboy Up Ride: This three hour experience is open to ages 8 and up and teaches riders to be a cowboy in 1/2 a day! Lots of laughter are combined with this ride as riders enjoy a lesson where they learn 3 rodeo games, enjoy a relaxing and scenic trail ride and then test their new skills in a 'show' between the members of the group. The Pony Place Summer Horsemanship Camp *There is much more to horses than just knowing how to ride!* English riding and horsemanship skills taught in a three hour daily course. Based on the standards set by the United States Pony Clubs, The Pony Place emphasizes overall horse care, not just knowing how to sit pretty on a horse. The daily three hour session will include a horse management lesson as well as an hour long riding lesson. Dressage, Jumping and Cross-country riding will be the main focus. The instructor, Emily McKernan, is a graduate 'H-A' from the USPC ( part of the highest national ranking within the USPC) and a nationally certified Level II Eventing instructor through the American Riding Instructor's Association. Over 15 years experience in horseback riding instruction.
